We are looking for an HVAC Field Service Engineer with working knowledge of cascade refrigeration cycle and all standard refrigeration components to provide onsite and in house service for Brooks products. Maintain service records, interact with other Brooks support groups, provide customer reports and Brooks internal reports.
Responsibilities: Troubleshooting to identify problems and present solutions to challenges in projects. Installation of refrigeration pipe fitting, pipe grades. Brazing and soldering with Oxygen/Acetelene. Installation and system building. Study schematics, manuals, work instructions and other specifications in order to understand installation, maintenance and repair procedures. Operate the systems to demonstrate equipment and to analyze malfunctions. Know how to download and configure various levels of software/firmware. Follow Service Coordinators directions to respond to customer issues. Contact customers directly via phone or remote connections to research and diagnose issues. Travel to customer sites (in and out of state) as needed to carry out repairs and maintenance. Complete service reports and communicate results of service activity to the customers. Update service database with all activities and expenses. Evaluate the performance of refrigeration systems. Gather data that may be used by refrigeration engineers for cooling repairs. Communicate service and customer issues back to Service Coordinators. Instruct and train customers on proper system usage. Follow up on all open issues as directed and work to provide solutions to the customers. May supervise workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance. Be familiar with all Brooks employee manuals and travel policies. Submit accurate and complete time and expense reports.
Required Skills: Ability to travel 50-70%. Working knowledge of cascade refrigeration cycle and all standard refrigeration components. Background in low/ ultralow temperature refrigeration, with all related electrical control subsystems. Strong understanding of Pressure/Temperature charts and thermodynamics. Must have or obtain a type three or higher refrigerant handlers card within 30 days of employment. Knowledge of cascade compressor systems with considerable hands-on experience. Strong troubleshooting skills to identify problems and present solutions to challenges in projects. Knowledge and experience with piping practices. Strong installation skills of refrigeration pipe fitting, pipe grades. Brazing and soldering with Oxygen/Acetelene a must. Installation and system building experiences. Be self motivated and able to be productive working independently, as well as in a team. Be able to study schematics, manuals, work instructions and other specifications in order to understand installation, maintenance and repair procedures. Be able to operate the systems to demonstrate equipment and to analyze malfunctions. Be familiar with various levels of software/firmware. Know how to download and configure.
