TexelTek, Inc. is seeking a Cyber Defense Linguist with 5 years of experience as a linguist translator to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The linguist will have a current TS/SCI clearance and be able to perform analysis and translation on complex datasets. The language analyst will have to have a working knowledge of information systems and be willing to learn network analysis tradecraft. They should possess a comprehension of advanced IP concepts, including VoIP, IPv6, VPNs, intrusion detection, firewalls, and various other computer network defense and cyber-related concepts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Translate graphic material into English.
Evaluating and analyzing complex data and computer networks to enable Intelligence Analysis and Information Operations efforts
Analyzing target systems/networks and characterizing system capabilities, limitations and vulnerabilities from a technical perspective
Analyze packet data to discover system anomalies
Conduct signature analysis to protect sensitive government networks
Develop expertise on computer and network security tools for Microsoft®Windows™ and UNIX®based platforms
Possess a sound understanding of various Microsoft®operating systems, Microsoft®Office™ and UNIX®/Linux®operating systems
Well versed in common Cyber Threat terminology, methodologies, possess basic knowledge of cyber incident and response, and related current events
Recognize emergent patterns and linkages to visualize the larger picture of cyber-based attacks
Pro-actively develop and advocate computer and network security concepts to the customer
4-5 years of experience with Chinese or Korean graphic translation analysis.
Current TS/SCI clearance
Strong English oral and written communication skills
Experience with using various tools for program and system analysis. Examples are Core Impact, IDA Pro, Metasploit, Nessus, Netcat, Nikto, Nmap, Ollydbg, PCAP tools, and WireShark is desired
Ability to perform protocol and network analysis, including TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, and IRC is desired
Experience with advanced telecommunications, including LAN, WAN, routers, data communications, and connectivity is desired
