Develops data repositories, oversees data collection and coding, data quality, data cleaning/merging, programming/analysis/workflow, and reporting. (EF)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides statistical consultation for project scientists related to clinical, genomic, or molecular data
Provides quality assessment and statistical analyses (summary statistics, inferential hypothesis testing, normalization, gene pathways, GSEA) of existing datasets for the purpose of generating relevant data (i.e., gene) lists in consultation with biologists.
Advises project scientists on bioinformatic tools and approaches for functional analyses, and perform the analyses as time permits
Learns the current and anticipated statistical and bioinformatic needs of the project and advises the project leadership
Programs and develops algorithms for numerical methods, and develop workflow and data pipelines as needed for the project.
Develops standard operating procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree, preferably Master's Degree in life sciences or equivalent industry (Pharmaceutical, Biotech ) experience required.
Several years of experience in data analysis is preferred, but not required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Requires experience with statistical analysis, numerical methods, or computer programming.
Working knowledge of at least one programming language (.NET, C++, C#, Python, JAVA, Perl, FORTRAN, etc.).
Requires highly effective communication skills.
Requires highly effective time management skills.
Requires Microsoft Office skills.
Interpret and/or evaluate information and/or create analytical approaches.
Travel may be required.
