DB2 DBA (team lead - hands-on) needed for z/OS environment. SQL DBA skills a plus

Detailed Job Desc:
This position is to develop, implement and enforce database standards and procedures while supervising and leading assigned personnel to administer database design, analysis, processing and performance in both DB2 and SQL environments.

Job Responsibilities:
Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner.

Successfully complete the approved supervisor training within one year of appointment.

Apply departmental standards and procedures to all assignments.

Effective communication with appropriate personnel.

Report status on assigned projects.

Require status reports from assigned personnel.
Manage multiple projects and requests simultaneously.

Complete all other duties as assigned.

Organize, plan, and lead a team effort to install projects on time.
Detailed analysis of assigned projects.
Make decisions in a clear concise manner.
Develop clear and accurate written plans and specifications.
Provide after-hours problem resolution when required.
Function effectively as a team leader.

Job Qualifications:
Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills.

Technical Skills:
Mastery in DB2 relational database.
Mastery of Database Utilities.
Mastery of SQL. (a PLUS)
Mastery of ODBC connectivity.
Mastery of Database SQL Tuning.
Mastery of Relational Data Modeling.
Mastery of administration of distributed connectivity software.
COBOL or equivalent structured programming language. -- some a plus

Completion of two approved supervisory/management/leadership classes or seminars.

Demonstrated ability to take on a leadership role through the efficient use of assigned personnel.

Demonstrated ability to provide support to multiple projects while effectively leading his/her primary project.

Exceptional problem solving abilities.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software required for this job.

Minimum of one year experience in Lead Database Administrator position or equivalent.
