The dental assistant is an integral member of the dental team providing quality dental care to patients. The dental assistant demonstrates strong clinical skills by practicing four handed dentistry, preparing operatories for the required procedures, organizing and coordinating patient charts and paperwork, and providing good customer service through strong interpersonal skills. The dental assistant will provide clinical support by assisting the dentist in various dental procedures, exposing radio graphs, taking impressions, fabricating and cementing temporary crowns, ensuring optimal patient comfort, sterilizing instruments, practicing infection control and OSHA standards in the operatory prior, during and after said procedures. This includes ensuring assigned operatories are cleaned and disinfected between each patient being seen by the dentist.
Must have 1-3 years of direct experience.
Must be a Certified Dental Assistant who is certified by the Dental Assisting National Board in general dentistry or in one of the specialty areas.
Must have Basic Life Support Certification.
Must have good practice and understanding of Infection Control Procedures set forth by Department of Public Health and OSHA.
Experience with Eaglesoft or other Dental Software is greatly preferred.
