WIC is the Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children. The NCF WIC Program covers an 11-county area that includes 15 clinic sites. Due to the nature of the program, this position requires travel. Staff must maintain a driver’s license and a car in good working order with adequate insurance. Staff will be required to periodically provide proof of insurance and a driver’s license. Staff must also immediately report any citations for moving violations, as well as suspension of driver’s license. Must maintain a telephone and be available for schedule changes.
Assesses nutrition status and counsels WIC clients to determine eligibility for the WIC program using information found in DOH manual 150-24, the WIC manual, and/or other state or local policy means.
Assesses high and low risk clients and provides appropriate follow up and charts notes in sufficient detail for others to be able to provide continuity of care.
Provides appropriate care and follow up for high-risk clients, writes care plans, and follows up as appropriate.
Oversees support personnel to assure adherence to protocol as needed. Is responsible for smooth operation of assigned clinics.
Travels to and from outlying clinics.
Helps in the development and evaluation of nutrition education materials, outreach and classes.
Attends and actively participates in staff meetings, seminars and educational opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:
Licensed as a Dietician in accordance with Chapter 468, Florida Statutes.
