DESCRIPTION

A Direct Support Professional is a staff that works directly with our consumers.

You would be required to be a motivated, positive role model and promote independence with our consumers. Most of our Direct Support Professional positions require the use of your own vehicle to transport consumers on outings and to run errands. Mileage is reimbursed to you.

Some of our consumers are very high functioning and are in need of a mentor and someone to help them do some small tasks. Other consumers may need total care including undergarment changes, personal hygiene, medications, feedings and housework assistance.

Our consumers are given daily goals and objectives; it is a part of the job duties to assist our consumers in obtaining their goals.

All staff must comply with federal, state, agency and program regulations, policies and procedures, and ensures the health and safety of clients.

Availability:
3-11's and midnight shifts Mon-Fri.
Days, 3-11's, and midnight shifts available on Sat and Sun.

DUTIES

Responsible for teaching and modeling appropriate social and interpersonal behaviors to the individual served,

Maintain, and submit as necessary, all necessary documentation in IPPs: behavior sheets, incident reports, personal assistance sheets, time cards, service logs, and medication records and other paperwork as requested to ensure compliance with agency and state policies and procedures,

Demonstrate appropriate role model for clients,

Maintain acceptable work standards in all areas including attendance and punctuality. There is absolutely NO sleeping while on duty during any shift,

Ensure all aspects of appropriate daily personal grooming hygiene (i.e. oral, bathing, dressing, hair care) for the individual served,

May be responsible for medical care for individuals, which may include catheterization,

Responsible for helping individuals with daily living skills that may include toileting and feeding,

Ensure all aspects of appropriate housekeeping tasks are completed based on posted chore list,

Responsible for ensuring completion of client daily schedule,

Ensure medication policy compliance,

Ensure compliance of client's weekly budget. Responsible for monitoring financials in the home,

Responsible for notification to supervisor of emergency situations (i.e. hospitalization, emergency police situations, or fire),

Responsible for scheduling, accompanying, and/or transporting consumers to medical appointments, and transporting consumers.

Must be willing to work all locations and with all other staff,

Transport individuals to doctors' appointments as needed,

When deemed necessary, a staff supervisor or other member from the support team may pull staff from their current work site to go to another work site.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma/GED & valid driver's license and auto insurance Responsible for teaching and modeling appropriate social and interpersonal behaviors to the individual served,
