The Director of Boston University School of Laws Graduate Tax Program (GTP) is responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of the GTP, one of the nations most highly acclaimed programs for advanced studies in tax. As programs external and internal ambassador and most visible champion, the Director has ultimate responsibility for designing and delivering the first-class educational experience that has been the hallmark of the program since its founding in 1953. The positions main responsibilities include creating and executing the programs strategic plan; overseeing the programs teaching faculty and curriculum; counseling students on academic and professional development issues; developing and implementing an effective marketing and outreach plan to support enrollment goals; managing all aspects of admissions; and cultivating relationships with alumni, law schools, law firms, accounting firms, tax consulting firms and other entities to attract qualified applicants and to develop placement opportunities for graduates. Candidates should be thoughtful risk-takers with creative entrepreneurial and marketing instinct to grow the GTP, with a particular focus on the programs new online option. They must also have a keen interest in working with students. While the Director position is a full-time administrative one, the Director has the opportunity to teach in the GTP and/or BU Laws J.D. program.
Requires: JD degree and 10+ years of experience as an accomplished tax practitioner.
