The primary purpose of this position is to direct and coordinate the operation and maintenance of all aspects of the 1 Card System, software and hardware, from planning through installation to day-to-day running of the office. This position is responsible for supervising staff to provide superior customer service, sound fiscal practices, and continued growth of the 1 Card System applications and revenue. This position provides administrative management of the mainframe and all associated hardware and software applications campus-wide. This position will serve as a University leader for the system needs assessments, user training, system installations, and post-implementation phases for the 1 Card System. This position is responsible for maintenance of readers, servers, remote computer terminals, and other equipment associated with the 1 Card System. This position is responsible for the coordination of new installations of card readers, proximity readers, security cameras, panic buttons, and locking hardware with all necessary parties. this position is responsible for coordinating and assisting with summer orientation sessions and ID card production. this position is also responsible for giving presentations to parents and/or students throughout all summer orientation sessions. This individual functions in a senior consultant capacity with direct responsibilities of Local area Network Fileserver support and will be regarded as a specialist in the comprehensive, innovative, analytical, and technical consultant support and will be regarded as a specialist in the comprehensive, innovative, analytical, and technical consultant support to campus-wide administrators that require 1 Card access control functions or 1 Card student service functions in the following capacities: departmental needs analysis, fileserver and/or workstation hardware and software purchasing configuration and recommendation based on strict departmental budget guidelines and ensuring purchasing decisions reflect university identified computing strategies; installation and configuration of fileserver and/or workstation hardware and software; provide continued troubleshooting and problem resolution of all 1 Card computing equipment to include network devices and other non-standard computing equipment either in the form of consulting with designated departmental technical contacts, or in many cases, providing hands-on resolution; and working with these departmental administrators and technical contacts through user group meetings to help continually educate these users. This individual will provide input, guidance, and direction to campus committees and staff for campus-wide projects that involve all 1 card technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the advanced level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.

Salary Grade Equivalent: 79 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
