The Director of Business Development is a subject matter expert managing projects through an entire life cycle of activities. This person has in depth knowledge of TUI indirect product offerings and has the ability to gather and analyze market segments, trends, partner needs, and competitor innovations to help direct sales strategies and product development. This person will assist the Sales Team with market segment strategies along with product execution and serve as solutions and product implementations consultant. This position has significant in-depth knowledge of industry practices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assesses the market and identifies new customer segments and opportunities to promote products. Provides market expertise and analysis, including segmentation, purchasing behaviors, competition, and trends.
Gathers and understands opportunities to enhance and build new products and capabilities.
Works on project solutions using analysis of data from a variety of sources to exercise judgment and determine appropriate actions.
Understands sales, marketing and business processes of partners and leverages knowledge to develop competitive business solutions and provide an increase in sales opportunities. Develops and recommends solutions and strategies based on customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing system infrastructure. Applies solution selling skills and technical knowledge to seek, identify, evaluate, and recommend TransUnion Interactive solutions to further penetrate existing partners as well as new opportunities.
Examines product performance across verticals and across customers within verticals looking for and pursuing opportunities to drive new revenue growth.
Supports TransUnion Interactive sales associates by identifying opportunities that can be bundled with proposals for standard services. Provides client testimonials and creates case studies for distribution. Provides ROI justification.
Assists organization to sell emphasizing key differentiators in solution capabilities. Leverages knowledge to develop competitive business solutions to increase sales opportunities.

A Bachelor’s degree in business development, marketing, or specialization field required. An MBA is preferred.
Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in credit, financial services consulting or financial services industry.
Prior experience in sales or marketing role preferred.
Must have proven and demonstrated ability and experience that indicates that the incumbent can think “outside of the box”.
The incumbent must be collaborative and problem-solving.
Creativity, flexibility and initiative are also required with the ability to persuade others when necessary.
Must be well organized with excellent analytical and negotiation skills, combined with superior oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with varying due dates and requirements.
Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills, including the ability to interact effectively with senior and executive management, fellow team members and outside stakeholders.
Must be strategic-minded, able to take in information from multiple sources and circumstances and formulate an overall solution or decision to resolve problems.
Superior thought leadership and ability to develop and continually improve the solution / product and service offerings to partners.
Must be a self-starter with entrepreneurial approach to partner interactions.
Must have exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills.
Must be flexible, pragmatic and driven to achieve organizational goals.
Must have strong knowledge of all software applications used by the supported group. This typically includes using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and database applications.
Ability to travel between 25% to 50% of the time
