Description RESPONSIBILITIES:

Roles:

Leads and owns execution of analyses related to own area, as well as thought leadership to support business and strategic decisions.

Directs Teams that provide analysis, expertise, and decision support to internal and external partners and functions.

Ensures Team prepares and presents analytical results and facts in a format that is clear understandable and actionable.

Acts as a representative of area and makes presentations to various internal and external partners and functions.

Mentors, coaches, and develops financial, analytical, and leadership acumen in direct reports to ensure depth and strength of organization.

Builds up Team's knowledge of airline industry, Southwest, and area.

Represents the role model of a healthy and spirited department and Team culture.

Responsibilities:

Leads Team(s) that are responsible for providing business support and guidance in area of expertise and related to company strategic and business decisions and projects.

Provides technical guidance on principles and topics within area of expertise.

Oversees, leads, and presents timely and actionable highly visible/complex projects or tasks including the preparation and communication of analytical efforts and proposals.

Ensures high quality execution of projects, initiatives, cross functional programs, and tasks.

Leads interactions with other Teams and departments.

Ensures Team experiences a healthy and spirited Team Culture where all employees receive the training, experience and nurturing they need to pursue successful careers.

Guides innovation, business process, and tool development ensuring business needs are met.

Oversee industry and competitive research analysis.

Support and deliver strategy presentations to the CEO and executive team and senior level members of Labor groups representing Southwest Airlines Employees.

Minimum Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION (Level, and degree if applicable)

Bacherlor degree required, MBA preferred.

Finance major preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have a minimum of five to ten years of people leadership.

Minimum of 5 years managing people or leading/influencing Teams required.

Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience developing and executing economic analysis.

Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the transportation industry.

Experience in the airline or transportation industry preferred.

Proficiency in performing business forecasting preferred.

Prefer minimum 2 years experience working with union workforce groups.

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft products required.

Proven expertise in cost comparisons and driver-based models with a deep understanding of how to assess productivity impacts on overall costs.

In-depth understanding and expertise with accepted industry standard data and tools (e.g., Form 41. etc.).

Scenario and future modelling capabilities required.

Counterpart to external financial experts and economists.

Ability to "see the big picture" and impacts to other areas.

Be able to prove/disprove economic theories coming from other areas.
