Oversee that the assigned operational functions within the department are consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division and the property.

Ensure departments are performing tasks in accordance with department, MGM Resorts International and Nevada Gaming Control Board policies.

Communicate with department heads and corporate regarding accounting and internal control issues.

Create and maintain a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance, feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction. Ensure departmental practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.

Oversee hiring practices, conduct interviews, make hiring decisions and ensure training programs reflect appropriate employee development guidelines.

Prepare and maintain accounting records and information in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Communicate with external and internal auditors.

Direct accounting staff on technical matters.

Provide support to managers and aid in the development of leadership skills / abilities of staff.

Review disbursements prior to release.

Approve Purchase Requisitions and large disbursements in the absence of Vice President.

Leverage existing information technology systems and where appropriate new technology to further the development, monitoring and continual improvement of the financial process.

Perform initial accounting research and issue resolution, facilitate audit processes, perform routine financial statement analysis to assist in ensuring financial statements of the highest quality, and perform other accounting tasks as required.

Responsible for various financial accounting related projects.

Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual externally reported financial information, including information for registration statements, debt/equity transactions or other financial transactions.

Perform routine evaluation and analysis of financial statements for the consolidated CityCenter campus.

Facilitation of internal, external, regulatory and other audits

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.

Other related duties as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
4 years public accounting experience.

3 + years management experience in Accounting/Finance.

Strong financial statement and GAAP knowledge.

Experience working with all levels of management, including executive level.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects with completion in a timely manner.

Strong research and business writing skills.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Must have professional appearance and demeanor.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Certified Public Accounting (CPA) License.

Ability to speak, read and write in English.

Preferred:
Previous experience working in a luxury resort.

Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
