Oversee major gift strategy and implementation for arts and sciences. Personally responsible for annual fund raising goal, to be determined at the start of each academic year. Cultivate and solicit individuals for major gifts in support of FAS priorities and activities; develop and recommend a variety of approaches for varied solicitations. Accompany Deans and other school representatives to meetings, special events, and other development-related activities to secure support for FAS.

Reports to and works closely with the Assistant Dean for Development for FAS in setting, tracking and meeting fund raising goals for FAS and its schools.

Qualifications/Required Education:
5 years' relevant professional-level experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience in fundraising, events planning, cultivation and stewardship of donors, and staff supervision.

Preferred Education:
Master's degree or completion of a fund raising certificate program.

Required Experience:
Five years progressively responsible experience in fund raising or an equivalent combination. Must include experience writing proposals and closing gifts of six-figures and higher. Must be comfortable with fund raising software and tools.

Preferred Experience:
Experience managing teams or complex projects preferred. Knowledge of and familiarity with the NYC-metro area's philanthropic community preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to take initiative and collaborate with others. Working knowledge of various software applications. Knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Ability to take initiative, build a team atmosphere and interact with a diverse population. Ability to strategize and meet fund raising goals. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing software.
