Nickelodeon Games is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to join a small team of QA engineers in Glendale, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for staffing the team across all development projects and ensuring clear test plans are created prior to testing. This is a hands-on role, and a major first initiative will be to implement automated web site testing.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop, manage, and set targets for the team of QA Engineers
  • Manage off-shore QA resources, contractors and external teams as needed
  • Oversee quality assurance for, Neopets, Nickelodeon Games social and mobile brands, and the games distribution business
  • Automate and optimize production release and workflow processes
  • Drive test engineering for Automation, whitebox testing, server-side test coverage
  • Measure test coverage and drive test driven development process
  • Liaison with Customer Service, Product Managers and outsource development teams
  • Develop and maintain standardized procedures - test plans, bug tracking, regression testing, automated testing
  • Training and mentoring junior members of the team to help them solidify their testing expertise, scrutiny and use of the tools
  • Establish QA standards for integrating with project teams and project planning

  • 5 – 7 years of QA experience, including at least 2 years as a QA Manager
  • 2 – 3 years of Mobile QA experience
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects
  • Extensive knowledge of various operating systems, web browsers and cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Knowledge of performing usability, compatibility, performance, regression, and acceptance tests
  • Must be very well organized, process-oriented, and goal driven
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical coworkers
  • Working knowledge of Selenium or other automated testing tools highly desired
  • UNIX/Linux knowledge and familiarity with command-line tools a plus
  • Familiarity with technologies such as SQL, HTML, Java, Ruby and Flash a plus
  • Ability to write scripts in a language such as Perl or Python a plus
  • Passion for games a strong plus
