Develops and implements an Access Market Research strategy and vision, in alignment with stakeholder strategy and priorities
- Centralize access primary research management, currently fragmented amongst payer marketers and Access Strategy Core Activities
- Leads identification of need for primary research and scope, based on all existing research, resources and knowledge base within BMS
- Manages and ensures smooth transition of access research from Payer Marketers/Access Strategy (Ex: communication of responsibility shifts, articulation of type of support provided, and building consensus around key deliverables)
- Integrates findings from primary research and syndicated studies both at the TA and industry level to generate deep insights
- Translates insights into actionable recommendations for the Access organization to generate deep understanding of the landscape
- Learns, applies and institutionalizes best practices for conducting primary research and its utilization to help shape product strategy
- Acts as the first point of contact for all Access market research and insights needs Capabilities
- Manages and executes the evaluation, improvement, and development of Access Market Research capabilities (ex: payer message testing, funding flow, copay sensitivities)
- Assesses vendor capabilities by type of research and strives to form deeper partnerships with a select few Collaboration
- Supports Access strategy by working with Access CoE to identify channel and customer needs
- Works closely with Access analytics team to develop and maintain analytical tools to drive strategic insights including evaluation of primary and secondary data sources and emerging methodologies for identifying key trends and break-through insights
- Interacts with Global Market Access teams to represent US Access in payer and pricing research – needs assessment, insight generation and results communication
- Coordinates with Executive Director of Access/Medical Insights & Capabilities to ensure consistency and standards across Market Research
- Key stakeholders will be Access CoE , Access Analytics, Brand Market Research, Sales and Marketing Leadership

- BA/BS required. MBA/other graduate degree preferred Experience – Responsibility and minimum number of years
- 8+ years in using Market Research to drive decisions
- Preferred 5+ years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in Market Access and the Healthcare landscape
- Experience operating successfully in a complex organization environment
- Experience interacting with senior levels of a company, understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their business information needs Competencies – knowledge, skills, abilities, other
- Superior analytical skills with proficiency in a broad range of primary marketing research methodologies including qualitative and quantitative design
- Deep expertise in bridging Market Access analytics and strategy to generate actionable insights and recommendations
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functionally and manage a heavy workload
- Proven knowledge of Market Access and Healthcare marketplace dynamics
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse teams across organizational lines and structures
- Working knowledge of secondary healthcare data (e.g. prescription and patient databases)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to gain quick therapeutic knowledge
- Ability to learn new tools quickly
- Experience in tactical and strategic planning process
- Strong presentation skills
