The City of Grandview is now accepting applications for an eligibility list for a Full-Time DISPATCHER for Police, Fire and Ambulance services. The City of Grandview is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

DUTIES: include receiving requests for service from citizens, dispatching emergency calls for police, fire, and ambulance services, data entry, records maintenance. This position requires 12-hour shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.

REQUIREMENTS: High school graduation or equivalent, proficient keyboard data entry, along with the ability to deal effectively and positively with the public. Police/Emergency Services dispatch experience highly preferred but will train motivated candidate with excellent oral communication skills to work in fast paced, multi-task environment. Must be able to recognize forced whisper at 5 feet with correction. Bilingual desired but not required.

PROCESS: The selection process includes a written test, background investigation, credit check, interview, oral board, typing test and polygraph. Post-offer exam includes psychological, drug screen, and hearing test. Successful candidates will be placed on a list for future vacancies.

PAY and BENEFITS: $14.74 - $20.87/hour.
