Responsibilities
The Division Controller –This position manages the daily financial, accounting and administrative functions of the Division including, but not limited to, budgets, forecasts, cost analysis, spending justifications, long term financial planning and implementation of new systems. Manages the Division’s administrative staff, which may consist of staff with additional specialized responsibilities. Functions as a key member of the Division’s leadership and strategic planning team. May work with external business partners such as independent accountants, auditors, bankers, customers, lawyers and suppliers. Safeguards the Company’s assets, as well as its policies, procedures and controls. Ensures all business transactions are properly recorded, summarized and reported to management on a timely and accurate basis. This position must also agree to abide by the Olympic Steel Financial Management Team Code of Ethics.

Qualifications 
Candidates must have an Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred. 
Three + years of accounting and finance experience is required. Controller experience preferred. Manufacturing knowledge helpful. 
Prior supervisory experience preferred. Ability to supervise, train and develop assigned employees. 
Word & Excel proficiency required. Database management and company systems knowledge preferred. 
Demonstrated financial skills (i.e., budgeting, financial planning and modeling, statement preparation and analysis, cost/ benefit analysis). 
Previous experience with cost accounting procedures, methods, and activities a plus. 
Solid understanding of business process flows with the ability to develop, implement and adhere to policies, procedures and controls over such processes 
Solid communication skills with ability to present and teach financial concepts to non-financial managers. 
Ability to deliver objective, honest and timely feedback and recommendations to senior and executive management relative to business results, issues or concerns with strong sense of accountability to achieve business results. 
Demonstrated Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while meeting time-sensitive deadlines. 
Ability to assess and manage risk with ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements. 
Strong analytical and communications skills required with ability to present and teach financial concepts to non-financial managers is important. 
