SPARTA, A Parsons Company, is seeking a full-time Intermediate System Engineer to provide technical advisory services to the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) Program, supporting the System Engineering group functions in requirements development, analysis, and control as well as supporting other C2BMC system engineering activities.
Assist in the development, analysis, and control of C2BMC / Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) OPIR (Overhead Persistent Infrared) Architecture (BOA) requirements for the C2BMC program throughout the complete engineering life-cycle.
Support the maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICD) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDD) in the DOORS database and provide support of activities leading to their acceptance by Program- or BMDS-level control Boards.
Support traceability between ICDs and C2BMC element specifications when directed.
Assess the two-way traceability of all requirements controlled in the DOORS database and provide trace certification letters required for key milestone decision events.
Work with design and test engineers to ensure that requirements are testable and identify/mitigate test risks
Work with external customer engineering groups to ensure product line efforts are synchronized with program goals including the export and import of partitions as necessary for those external groups.
Provide engineering methodology, technical approach, cost, and schedule estimates for both project proposals and current problem resolution.
Provide project level surge support for other engineering activities.
Interact with engineering teams and customer to identify problems, analysis methods, and solution concepts for all phases of the engineering lifecycle.
5+ years combined experience required in systems engineering and/or other engineering discipline required
Working knowledge of DOORS and DOORS products required
Previous BMDS program experience desired
Demonstrated capability in DOORS use and DOORS scripting to develop required documentation.
Demonstrated ability to perform in a team environment.
Ability to clearly express ideas/concepts, have good analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills required
High-level of organizational skills
Ability to review and analyze documents
Experience in working in a customer service environment
Candidates must be flexible and able to plan, coordinate and support mission execution in a rapidly changing environment
Required: Demonstrated capability in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Very strong emphasis on Excel.
Required: Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate engineering or science discipline.
Desired: Master's Degree in a related technical discipline.
Desired: Ability to obtain a TOP SECRET security clearance
Must be able to travel up to 25%
