Responsible for front line desktop computer support to customers of the Desktop Support Program. This includes: installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software on the Macintosh and PC platforms; adhering to service level agreements with departmental customers; working as a liaison with users and experts to bring up and address strategic issues and other

: Minimum:
  • Education: Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent.
  • Licenses: None.
  • Experience: 0 to 2 years of computer support experience.
  • Skills: Good problem solving skills; ability to interact with campus community; ability to maintain accurate and detailed records; working knowledge of computer operating systems and common tools including email clients and web browsers.
  • Physical Mobility: Able to travel to various locations across campus to install equipment or software; able to lift and carry desktop computers and related peripherals; able to maneuver in tight spaces, to bend, reach, stoop, etc.; must be able to move computer equipment.
  • Environmental Conditions: Usual office setting; exposure to computer monitors for long periods of time.
  • Mental: Works well under pressure, pays close attention to detail, strong customer service orientation.
  • Other: Weekend and evening hours may be required.
  • Education: Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent.
  • Licenses: CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation Certification preferred
  • Experience: 1+ years’ experience in working in a help desk, service center, desktop support program, or other technology support role preferred. Higher Ed experience a plus.
  • Skills: Ability to work well with others, provide a consistent high level of customer service, act independently to resolve customer issues and to escalate issues as needed.
