Senior Data Warehouse Architect, Kronos Incorporated, Chelmsford, MA
Generally responsible for providing guidance and leadership on technical and design aspects of the design and implementation of Data Warehouse (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions on Kronos' global analytics platform. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

Requirements Gathering and Analysis, including:
Analyzing business needs and project-specific information requirements, and defining system requirements to meet these needs;
Prioritizing and managing requirements as they arise; and
Partnering with Project Managers and Business Analysts to validate project-specific Functional Requirements and gather any additional Technical Requirements.

Design and Development, including:
Providing design guidance in the development of holistic, best practice EDW and BI designs that meet established standards of performance, scalability and usability;
Logical and physical database design using an industry standard data modeling tool;
Load strategy design and implementation on the Informatica platform;
BI design on the Cognos platform including standard report, dashboard, portal page, and framework manager model;
Overseeing the technical implementation of all EDW/BI solutions, including the development of testing specifications;
Providing guidance and technical insight in the quality assurance and user acceptance testing phases; and
Working with application support team to resolve issues.

Project and Operational Management, including:
Providing input to the project management process in terms of scoping the work involved; and
Working with senior management on facilitating operations and issue resolution.

Architecture, including:
Establishing architecture standards for EDW, Cognos, and ETL including in the areas of naming, performance, scalability, usability, operability, flexibility, affordability and auditability;
Describing all technical content within the purview of EDW/BI, including databases - EDW, ODS, Staging, etc.;
Source to target mapping for ETL processes populating the EDW, ODS and Staging layers;
BI - Standard reports, Dashboards, Framework Manager models; and
Publishing technical documentation in an online-accessible format for universal consumption.

BI Strategy, including:
Responsibility for the architecture aspect of the overall BI strategy, which ensures that the Architecture for EDW/BI will meet strategic business imperatives; and
Assisting in the business aspect of the overall BI strategy, which focuses on building out a product roadmap, by providing guidance or input as needed.

A qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign educational equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline and 7 years of progressively responsible experience as a Data Warehouse Developer. Must have had experience architecting and implementing Enterprise Data Warehouses, Operational Data Stores, ETL, and Business Intelligence solutions on global business-critical, enterprise-level date warehouse environments as well as industry experience implementing on Cognos and Oracle platforms. Must have strong experience with Oracle 10g as well as expert knowledge of SQL performance tuning, index analysis and partitioning. Must have had full life cycle development experience, including requirements analysis and technical design through implementation, as well as experience with mentoring and training other EDW/BI professionals.
