The purpose of the position is to assure that the UMW Dahlgren Campus facility (building and grounds) is clean, sanitary and safe. The incumbent's primary job is to provide an exemplary level of housekeeping services for the UMW Dahlgren Campus using industry standard housekeeping tools and techniques. In addition to maintaining excellent working relationships with staff, students, customers, and visitors, it is expected that the Housekeeping Lead Worker work collaboratively with other staff by providing information so that facility and/or technology issues can be identified and addressed in a timely manner. The incumbent's daily actions demonstrate the university's commitment to the region's business and professional community while promoting the UMW Dahlgren Campus' unique capabilities, assets, and service quality.
-Considerable knowledge and experience providing housekeeping services in a commercial or educational environment using industry standard tools and techniques.
-Considerable experience using, inventorying, ordering and storing supplies and equipment properly
-Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
-Able to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with staff, tenants, customers and guests.
-Able to constantly stand and walk for extended periods of time, frequently lift up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally climb an eight foot ladder.
-High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
-Valid Virginia driver's license.
-Considerable experience providing commercial housekeeping services.
-Some experience using a computer to check email.
