We are currently seeking a Dairy Technical Sales Representative for the Northeast territory in the US.
The Dairy Technical Specialist has the responsibility for assisting the sales process for the animal nutrition product line by providing technical support within and surrounding the channels of distribution, contributing to development and commercialization of new and existing product lines. Will additionally have some account responsibility and need to build rapport with private consultant groups in the East.
Identify and establish strong working relationships with influential dairy nutritionists, both independent and feed company employed, to sell the value proposition of MSGAN and the product line.
Provide dairy technical sales support to Sales staff, customers, and large dairy producers. Develop understanding of ongoing farm challenges and concerns. Provide on site technical solutions and problem resolution.
Identify and implement a contact plan with key university feed and dairy industry influencers. Utilize the network of contacts to supply information on the latest trends and developments.
Assist in the commercialization of new products and programs and improvement of the existing portfolio.
Organize, manage and analyze field trials to advance the sales process.
Attend and participate in dairy industry conferences.
Provide input to the Product and Process Development Team regarding product/program development, technical needs, and nutrition.
Develop technical articles, brochures, etc. as needed to support business.
Attend and contribute to Milk Specialties Global Scientific Advisory Committee.
Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition with expertise in dairy nutrition, management and rumen microbiology.
5 years previous industry technical service experience with extensive knowledge of dairy nutrition, dairy management practices, and feed formulation.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
Strong knowledge of computer software applications.
Requires contact with Sales & Marketing, Nutritional Services, Quality Assurance as well as external contact with customers, distributors, universities and industry influencers.
Based in a home office, with 50 - 70 % travel required.
