Description

The Business Applications Architect will plan, develop, implement, and maintain databases, data links, and various other data management repositories and report forms to automate and standardize reporting initially for the BPM team and partnering organizations. This person will collaborate with the BPM team members and other groups to determine what data is relevant and important to track, will identify the source of the data and will build and/or implement for tracking and reporting. This person will update and maintain BPM reports for various audiences on a real time basis for daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reporting. Key to the role is the ability to identify trends, anomalies, identify the drivers of the trends or anomalies and make recommendations on changes that will drive continual improvements within BPM and other partner teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain a data storage, analysis, and reporting system that generates standard information consistently and reliability to both the BPM team and additional partnering organizations.

Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business data and reporting needs and objectives, data scope, usage, formatting, and security

Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing reporting and database systems and develop strategies for replacing, improving, or further leveraging these systems.

Build and/or implement databases / BI systems and guided user interfaces (GUIs) that standardize and auto generate reports for BPM and other team use

Analyzes data, identifying trends and anomalies. Effectively communicates relevant information

Facilitates team and stakeholder meetings effectively

Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations, customized to the user.

Communicate consistently and reliably on the status of different change initiatives in the different states of the change process

Analyze project budget performance according to stakeholder requirements and business objectives

Delivery of consistent and accurate information flow amongst stakeholders

Enter and track data using databases, spreadsheets, software applications, etc.

Assist in preparing and/or collecting supporting information for presentations and/or documentation (i.e. Ad Hoc information, presentations, procedures, processes, etc.)

The ability to analyze, track and process large amounts of data and effectively report out on any noted data discrepancies or anomalies, identify potential root cause and make recommendations on improvement / change initiatives as needed

Attention to detail and accuracy of data auditing experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational, interpersonal project and time management and multi-tasking skills.

Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to operational excellence.

Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, and problem solving techniques, root cause analysis, quality assurance practices and concepts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or other related field

4 years experience in building data models and reports.

Minimum of 2 year’s experience using SQL and key components of SQL Server

Minimum of 2 year’s experience in developing all application layers using a variety of browser and .Net technologies including, but not limited to: ASP.NET, Visual C#.NET, HTML, CSS, IIS.

Experience in the full lifecycle of development activities across the back end, middleware and front end

Assess the database needs and designs, develops, implements, troubleshoots, and maintains the system.

Designs, develops, modifies, implements, and maintains the web applications and web sites as required to meet business deliverables.

Extensive data analytical experience inclusive of detailed statistical analysis and data synthesis for presentations at all levels throughout Asurion.

Experience and exposure to custom reporting development in Clarity using the Crystal reporting tool

Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, inclusive of VBA macro development.
