As part of the Data Infrastructure Team, the Data Analyst is a key member of Investment Data & Derivative Services, providing tactical and strategic data-related business analysis and project management to the entire firm.
The ideal candidate will have excellent problem solving and project management skills, solid technical abilities, and several years of experience working with security reference, derived, fundamental, or analytic data. This individual must be adept in both a team and individual contributor role.
•Provide business analysis for firm-wide data projects and enhancements to existing Wellington applications
•Define and execute Quality Assurance and User Acceptance tests.
•Project management responsibilities include defining requirements, participating in solution creation, and integration into business processes
•Diagnose data exceptions and recommend controls to ensure data accuracy
•Research questions posed by Wellington data users
•Minimum 5 years of business analysis and project management experience throughout a project lifecycle in a financial services environment
•Degree in Finance, Information Science, or related discipline. Advanced degree or related professional certification preferred. Progress towards CFA a plus
•Advanced knowledge of tools and techniques for presenting and analyzing data including; SQL, Excel relational databases and data marts
•Proven relationships with leading data vendors (e.g. Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Markit, IDC)
•Experience with security master data (security reference, derived, fundamental, and analytic data) and workflows associated with maintaining the data
•Experience with solutions for managing reference data (e.g. Golden Source, Cadis, Eagle, Asset Control). Cadis certification and prior experience working on a reference data project implementation strongly preferred.
•Strong understanding of financial instruments, including the relationship between products and the data required for each instrument type
