Jump Trading is highly dependent on high-speed data communication and network computing for its electronic trading operation. The working environment at Jump is high energy and fast paced, creating an excellent opportunity for learning and growth for anyone who joins our team.
Perform physical installation and cabling (both fiber and copper) of server, network and datacenter equipment
Work with remote datacenter technicians to facilitate installation and changes for remote servers and network equipment
Maintain documentation related to servers and other datacenter systems
Installation of internal server components for break/fix
Physical layer troubleshooting
Responsible for keeping the data center environment clean and orderly
Organize the full purchase cycle including quoting, purchasing, receiving coordination, inventory tracking and payment reconciliation.
Coordinate the arrival of equipment with appropriate staff for receiving and installation
Maintain an inventory of frequently used items. Track typical usage patterns and proactively order gear as appropriate.
Manage a centrally located storage facility of equipment and coordinate the transport of the equipment to remote locations including shipping and customs logistics.
Confirm costs against approved Purchase Orders and make sure invoices are correct.
Monitor data center environment using established tools
Track issues in a request/ticketing system
Adhere to established guidelines and procedures
Create documentation to describe new procedures

Required Experience:
Excellent communication skills
Familiarity with computer hardware
Required travel to both local and global data centers
Must be able to provide own transportation

Must be able to multi-task and change priorities on a short notice
Must be able to excel in a fast paced environment
Desire to learn
Detail oriented
Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel and Visio required
Ability to lift 100 pounds
Availability to work evenings and weekends as required - heavy workload will be between the hours of 4pm - 7pm
Bachelor's degree preferred
