Under the general supervision of the Director of the Regulatory Division of DHEC’s Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management, this position will serve as the Public Notice Coordinator. The chosen candidate will be primarily responsible for r eceiving applications, collecting pertinent data and generating public notices via integration of EFIS and AppExtender; helping create and maintain organized, accurate and comprehensive permit/certification files; ensuring all necessary data is entered into the permitting database (EFIS) and is updated and maintained as necessary; ensuring data regarding proposed activities is transmitted to local government representatives in a timely manner; querying data in EFIS as needed/requested by Regulatory Division staff.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience in collecting, scheduling, processing and reporting information in a data processing environment . Employee must have proficient written and verbal skills and have ability to deal with people in professional environment and manner. Organizational skills are a must. Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously; the ability to effectively prioritize duties. Must be proficient in Excel and Word. Must have the ability to be flexible in work assignments/adjust to changing work priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with administrative duties related to environmental permitting programs; f familiarity with the coastal counties of South Carolina. Experience with data entry and database use, including quality assurance of data entry, is also preferred.
