Advertised Summary Job Description

GRANT-FUNDED: The Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University ( is recruiting for the position of Data Manager to join a team of researchers, working on a large, prospective birth cohort study. The candidate will be responsible for: a)data management related to biological sample transfer, and inventory; b)coordination of staff commitments with sample status; c)processing of raw data from lab procedures using software provided by equipment manufacturer, and quality control functions; d)prepare analytic databases by merging clinical/ laboratory/ questionnaire data as necessary. The incumbent will perform basic and more extensive statistical analyses on datasets, as needed, under the supervision of CII faculty and CII biostatistician. The incumbent will assist in the creation of graphs and tables for inclusion in faculty/postdoc presentations and manuscripts. The candidate will perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus three years of related experience required. Experience with large datasets mandatory. The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a full background check prior to a final offer of employment being made.

Preferred Qualifications

MA in statistics/biostatistics Work experience managing large databases, preferably including laboratory and/or clinical data
