Position Summary

At Atlassian, we're hooked on metrics. As a Data Scientist, you'll be everyone's friend – digging through our plentiful data to tell a story and help us make better decisions. Be prepared for our Founders to grill your SQL and Hadoop skills! On the Marketing team, you'll be responsible for making sure that we're spending our time and money on advertising, campaigns, email, copywriting, and events in the most effective way possible.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with other data quants to extract and communicate findings

Analyze data and propose strategies to improve our marketing strategies

Communicate data analysis to drive better decision making

Work with a variety of database technologies, including SQL and Hadoop

Have a blast exploring new ways to analyze and visualize data

What We're Looking For

Passion for analyzing data and communicating with data

Experience with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools

Exposure to SQL/RDBMS or general programming skills

Organized and self-motivated

Ability to learn quickly

Attention to detail

Team player

A degree in C.S., mathematics, economics, or related technical field

1-3 years of related experience

Preferred Skills

Experience with SQL and Hadoop

Experience with statistical analysis (R, SAS, SPSS)

Experience with enterprise reporting tools (SAP, SSRS, Cognos)

Familiarity with *NIX, bash and Python a plus

Knowledge of online marketing tactics (SEO, SEM, Display)
