Data Services Analyst
As a critical member of the implementation support team with a firmly established publicly-traded company, the Data Services Analyst will be responsible for implementing process and system improvements that will increase efficiency within the company to provide better operational system support to customers. Additionally, the Data Services Analyst will gather requirements, perform analysis, support development and test processes as well as understand the applications, data and associated technologies for supported areas.
As a member of a PIC data services team, implement proprietary, customized ETL processing for new clients, and provide support and enhancement of existing client implementations.
Develop, test, and support complex new and preexisting programs, applications or systems related to data interfaces.
Conduct QA on data content and referential integrity of inbound client data.
Interact with clients to gather and document requirements for ETL process modification and custom data extractions.
Liaise with multiple internal teams on shared tasks – e.g. Operations, Engineering, Customer Support, etc.
Mentor less experienced team members.
5+ years SQL development experience (Any major RDBMS)
1+ years Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience
1+ years Unix/Linux shell scripting and utilities experience
1+ years troubleshooting and root cause analysis application support
Demonstrable understanding and application of RDBMS concepts
Demonstrable ability to devise and execute test plans
Experience working directly with external customers
Strong written and oral communication skills
Team player with the ability to coordinate shared activities across multiple teams
10+ years’ application support and/or development experience with substantial ETL and/or data interchange content
Demonstrable advanced understanding of RDBMS concepts and their application in ETL – e.g. complex queries, outer joins, and aggregate and analytical functions
Demonstrable ability to independently perform system investigation, reverse engineering, and new development with minimal guidance while adhering to development standards and good change control practices
Experience in all phases of the application development lifecycle
Experience with investigation, reverse engineering, support, enhancement, and documentation of preexisting/legacy systems
Experience with flat file data manipulation using Unix/Linux shell scripting and utilities
Experience with flat file data manipulation using Perl
Experience with aspects of Oracle beyond basic queries/DML – e.g. packages, procedures, and query tuning
Experience with EDI (ANSI X12) processing – ideally with 835 and 837 transaction types
Experience with proprietary format and/or cross platform data interchange
Experience with HIPAA, or other similar industry standard, security and privacy requirements
Experience with reading and creating conceptual and logical models to include flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, and data dictionaries
