The Data Specialist is a key member of the Managed Information Systems Department and Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate for this role will be adept at:

Designing and developing reports using MS SQL Reporting Services 2008 (SSRS), SAS Enterprise Guide and other BI reporting tools.

Developing end-to-end reports while working with end users to understand their requirements, and support decision-making

Managing the design implementation and support of the SAS business intelligence platform.

Working with the data management team and other stakeholders related to metadata definitions, data models, views and table structures.

Leading and performing ad-hoc data research and analysis and providing written summaries of results for non-technical business users.

Educating and training end users on the use of SAS business intelligence tools to optimize their performance, data analysis and reporting functions.

Working as an integral member of multiple project teams for the purpose of creating or modifying existing data reports and other critical analysis to support strategic initiatives.

Assisting with extracting all available data and ensuring that data is readily available for the data management team to meet reporting and analysis requirements.

Utilizing various tools to consolidate and report data through data sets, formal reports and dashboards.

Required Skills

BA/BS in Business, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics or related field with an emphasis on data analysis and data management. Minimum 3 years of experience in report development and data analysis using various tools such as SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Enterprise Miner, IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS or other platforms. Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts preferred. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel a plus.

Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines while working in a fast-paced team environment. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Statistics background and strong presentation skills are a plus.
