The Data Specialist exists to maintain and track findings in accordance with the relevant Standards Act and to perform followup as required by relevant governing bodies and regulatory agencies. The Data Specialist facilitates the communication of lay results to the patient in the form of summary letters and notifies physicians if follow-up is needed to completely track outcomes.
- Education: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree preferred. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business/health-related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Experience with PC and Windows-based operations with a focus in MicroSoft Excel. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience and competency in customer service skills in a professional environment. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an environment with changing priorities. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to operate a Windows-based personal computer. Good oral communication and problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and is self-directed. Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously. Able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, interact with all cultures and level of authority.
