As the Data and Network Security Leader you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of activities related to ensuring data is properly secured for GRC globally. This role will be a key contributor in our efforts to ensure the protection of intellectual property and develop/execute our strategy to effectively leverage the capabilities of cloud computing in a secure fashion.
Responsibilities include current state analysis, strategy development, project implementation, policy & procedure development and compliance. The scope includes both stuctured and unstructured data stored and used internally and in the cloud.
Lead and coordinate data & network security efforts for GRC globally.
Represent GRC as a key member of corporate councils and particiapte in development of the data & network security strategies.
Be a key contributor to the GRC and GE strategies on how to leverage cloud computing in a secure fashion.
Identify and work with vendors as required to evaluate state of the art tools to increase data & network security.
Lead and coordinate data & network security program execution.
Work with the labs to develop and implement processes and technologies to improve security & increase researcher productivity.
Develop and/or ensure compliance with data & network security policies and procedures.
Serve as a subject matter expert for data & network security.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
7+ years combined experience in IT Security, IT Infrastructure or IT Applications.
Demonstrated knowledge of technical concepts related to data & network security.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong project management skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent influence skills.
U.S. citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Provisions.
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
Must be 18 years or older.

4+ years IT security experience.
Master’s degree in Information Security.
Security certifications (i.e. CISSP, CISM, CAP, etc.).
Data Architecture experience
Cloud computing experience/expertise
Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience working in a complex, global environment.
Six Sigma certification.
