The Data and Security Administrator provides the Associate Provost of Student Affairs and the University Registrar with ongoing functional support for the Document Management System, Web Tyco, the Student Information System (PeopleSoft) and other supporting systems. Reporting to the Assistant Director of IT and Office Automation in the office of Student Affairs, the Data and Security Administrator provides operational support for the entire Student Affairs department.
Security liaison for PeopleSoft and DMS. Responsible for maintaining permission lists, roles, and row level structures that support the University and provide for secure data architecture. Modify roles and add roles based on staff and faculty position and access needs. Accountable to ensure that excessive access is not granted by auditing security on a periodic basis.
Create or enhance reports using PeopleSoft Queries, Access databases and other tools to support the University.
Responsible for interface of PeopleSoft and the Learning Management System which includes creating specifications, testing and troubleshooting; this will require periodic late and weekend hours.
Implement exhaustive testing techniques for existing and new development.
Document development projects to track time lines and metrics, and eliminate duplicate reports. Create and maintain training material and business process documents to support best practice standardization.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 3 years of experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions; intermediate skill with Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with security structures associated with permission lists/roles and row level security. Proficiency with SDLC, functional requirements definition and testing. Excellent professional and interpersonal communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism; ability to work within a team and independently; excellent computer skills; detail-orientated work skills; and the ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualification: Advance Microsoft Excel skills, experience with PeopleSoft Query building, Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, and Viso, skills in PDF and forms building and basic SQL understanding.
