We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator in Eden Prairie, MN.
Perform all aspects of Oracle database administration including planning, installation, upgrading, patching, tuning, support, and troubleshooting.
Assist in the architecture of systems to provide a highly scalable, highly available server structure which provides web services for customers and for in-house applications.
Work closely with application development teams and systems administration to test, troubleshoot, and optimize new and existing database-driven applications.
Monitor production, test, and development database environments and actively pursue any issues limiting the performance and scalability of these systems.
Assist in the deployment of the Xactware suite of products.
Effectively and professionally interact with customers, clients and Xactware employees.
Must be willing to carry a cell phone, be on-call and occasionally work odd hours to help meet customer service level agreements.
Continually maintain a current set of job skills by participating in industry seminars and training.
Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.

This position is primarily responsible for providing operational database services for web based applications used by customers and in-house applications. We need a highly competent and motivated individual for this position. Close work is required with both systems administration and development to troubleshoot and provide solutions to performance issues on existing applications as well as design of new database-driven applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and 5+ years of related work experience.
- Expert knowledge of database technologies, including Oracle 10g and 11g RAC, ASM, RMAN, Grid Control.
- Experience supporting 24x7 enterprise database applications.
- Extensive experience with database management tools, SQL, PL/SQL, TOAD, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and other elements of enterprise level database support.
- Knowledge of SAN and networking technologies.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Dedication to work and willingness to work hard under pressure.
- Experience with Oracle Financials/Oracle Applications is a plus.
- Oracle and other industry certifications are a plus.
