About You:
Talented database administrator who is looking to build/enhance technical skills, work on exciting projects, and grow into experienced DBA.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Providing day to day administration of cloud based databases: refreshes and upgrades, performance monitoring, application support and optimization, backup and recovery
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database related errors and failures
  • Database design, query processing/optimization, performance tuning, index tuning, cache and buffer tuning
  • Knowledge/experience in scripting and creating automated tools for data refresh and update
  • Supporting company and database growth by offering insights into scaling, replication, and sharding
Required Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge and/or extended course work of database administration
  • Between 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Attentive to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge/experience of database scalability
  • Knowledge/experience with multiple database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc)
  • Knowledge of cloud based database services (Amazon RDS, Heroku, etc)
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, PHP, etc)
  • Shell scripting
