Responsible for planning, coordinating and administering computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long and short range requirements, operational guidelines, protection and logical-physical database design.
Coordinate with IT database administrators, systems administrators, and program staff regarding data warehouse development, migration of data through manual or ETL processes, revision, and update of data structures, procedure development, troubleshooting, system configuration, security administration, and account setup.
Install, deploy and upgrade database systems and applications.
Maintain documentation, and perform routine systems administration maintenance activities.
Develop data models and data maps for data warehouse system.
Develop and maintain data structures, queries, and reports.
Provide assistance to end users and programmers regarding database related problems and issues.
Initiate processes and documentation of Program database systems, develop procedures to ensure security and integrity of data.
Manage end user accounts and accessibility.
Provide technical expertise to end users.
Coordinate, schedule, and test upgrades to the database systems.
Research and evaluate software, system upgrades and enhancements, and provide technical recommendations.
Stay current with the latest technology in database tools and techniques.
Maintain patching and security updates to associated systems and databases, IAW approved changes and procedures.
Responsible for performance monitoring, database tuning, identification and correction of performance bottlenecks.
Responsible for overall database reliability and availability including database architectures, upgrades, performance, and tools and software installation and maintenance and installation of application software germane to database repositories.
Collaborate with software engineers, security administration, computer operations, network management, and system administrators to ensure quality and integrity of databases, application software and data.
Successful candidates should have a Bachelors degree and 3+ years experience, or a commensurate combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience creating, troubleshooting, tuning, and maintain data warehouse systems, working with SQL/Oracle databases.
Experience creating and documenting database tables, views, data elements, shared data rules, data structures, and reports.
Proven experience and proficiency installing deploying, maintaining, and upgrading database systems and programming.
Knowledge and experience with database systems and development theories, including ETL processes.
Experience and strong understanding of client/server technology.
Database integrity and security standards experience.
Information Assurance professional certifications that meet DoD 8570.1M requirements for IAT-2 (GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP).
ITILv3 Foundations certification (required within 60 days of hire).
Preferred Additional Skills:
Strong SQL programming experience and skills.
Work experience in Oracle Business Intelligence administration and/or programming, SAS Analytics, and Oracle and SQL programming.
Experience working in a mixed Unix and Windows environment.
Previous experience supporting government and/or Department of Defense customers.
This position requires the candidate to already possess an active Secret clearance and to maintain the clearance.
