Coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database. Typically has an Associates degree with previous experience in programming.

o Associates degree in computer programming or relevant field required. Bachelor degree preferred o 5+ years experience required

Responsibility level:
o Exercises independent judgment with direction from supervisor

o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required) o Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
o Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server (Required)
o Knowledge of underlying operating systems, Red Hat Linux and/or Windows (Required)
o Knowledge Oracle and/or SQL Server clustering (Preferred)

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Respond to and troubleshoot database incidents
o Respond to database requests (add storage to databases, add or remove database accounts and permissions, assist with execution of custom and 3rd party scripts against databases)
o Perform database refreshes o Install, configure and patch Oracle and/or SQL Server software
o Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations
o Follow incident, problem and change management processes
o Document database systems as required
