Summary:
Position’s primary responsibility is to provide day-to-day monitoring, management, provisioning, backup, and support of production, staging, and development databases for an automotive finance company; support of all database infrastructure components, including periodic 7 x 24 support. The database supports systems that include, but are not limited to: loan origination/servicing system and its customer, dealer, and partner portals; financial reporting to corporate parent and other partners; and reporting portal.

Responsibilities:
Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues on loan origination/servicing system using Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, ADF, JDeveloper, and OBIEE.

Monitoring and improving database performance.

Promote database objects to production that are developed by internal development team.

Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.

Assist in the planning and execution of disaster recovery failover testing.

Establish and calculate optimum values for database parameters, leveraging best practices such as database statistics accumulation.

Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database.

Revise company definition of data as defined in data dictionary.

Ensuring reports that have data elements in common leverage shared provisioning and/or are combined to address broader needs.

Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, such as the installation of new databases.

Working with IT project managers and QA staff to deliver large-scale projects with attention to quality.

Ensure that consistent practices are used to maintain the integrity of the systems.

Support compliance activities, including SOX and SSAE16 attestations.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination

Demonstrated skills in Oracle-based environment

Previous experience supporting auto finance companies strongly preferred.

Technical skills:
Installation and configuration of Oracle RAC.

Troubleshooting Oracle RAC database performance issues

Backup and recovery of databases using RMAN

Use of Oracle recovery point and rollback technology

Installation, configuration, maintenance and tuning of Oracle Data Guard

Understanding of Oracle data encryption technologies, including ASO, TDE, Audit Vault and Database Vault.

Installation and configuration of Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Familiarity with SQLServer databases preferred.

Work and communicate with a wide range of people – peers, vendors, management and others

Display professional, positive, and approachable attitude/demeanor and discretion

Ability to work effectively in a hosted and/or cloud-based architectural framework preferred

Manage own time effectively given priorities from manager
