Summary Job Purpose:
Will work with the Financial Analyst and I.T. groups to develop, maintain, and support the data warehouse, develop new ETL processes, incorporate additional data sources and help transition to our new, cutting edge Business Intelligence platform. This position reports directly to the Director of Technology.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Information Systems or a related field.
Licenses / Certificates:
Ability to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification.
Basic Competencies and Abilities:
Ability to act independently while drawing conclusions from written and computer generated materials.
Ability to operate personal computer (to access & input information using Microsoft Excel & Word, AS400 et. al.), copy machine, photocopier, calculator etc., in order to perform job functions.
Ability to collect information and solve internal customer concerns promptly and efficiently.
Must possess Analysis, problem solving and creative skills.
Ability to understand the technical aspects of the IT services industry as they relate to data warehouse and business intelligence applications.
Experience withdata warehousing including knowledge of ETL processes.
Experience with developing, testing and deploying data cubes and/or data marts.
Ability to write relational and multidimensional database queries using SQL.
Experience in analyzing and validating large sets of data (1000 + tables)
Experience with SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS
Experience with SQL Server 2005 and 2008 R2
Ability to effectively communicate with both IT staff and Financial Analysts
Ability to manage projects and perform well in a fast-paces environment
Ability to learn new techniques, tools and methodologies as they relate to data reporting and automation of information systems.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete reports, correspondence and communicate with team members and supervisors.
Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift and remain calm during emergency situations.
Ability to operate in a confined space (i.e. hotel elevators).
Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to operate multi-line telephones to conduct Hotel business.
Ability to comprehend and follow supervisors instructions.
Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with Hotel standards.
Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
Ability to work with interruptions.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, develop, support, document and implement applications for business intelligence, data warehousing, SQL based application software and other business intelligence Initiatives.
Work with data development and architecture goals to define, install, and enforce best practices and agreed upon standards, inclusive of: coding conventions, testing strategies, architectural patterns, etc.
Aggressively pursue new and innovative ways to solve technical problems and limitations
Business definition, functional definition, and project execution of the enterprise Data Warehouse
Train users and other individuals on the use of the developed applications.
Communicate with colleagues, department heads and management teams throughout the processes of creating and maintaining applications.
Lift, move, and/or carry items weighing up to 20 lbs. on a frequent basis.
Sit, stand, walk, bend (at neck & waist), squat, reach (above & below shoulder level), twist (at neck & waist), as needed for duration of shift. Simple grasping, fine manipulation of the hands and repetitive use of the hands are required to perform essential functions.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the Hotel.
Comply with hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Hotel facilities.
Periodic Job Functions:
In addition to performance of essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions to be determined by the supervisor based upon the particular needs of the Hotel.
Attend and participate in meetings in order to be informed of new rules, regulations and procedures and to discuss scheduling and/or other concerns of the Hotel and/or department.
Safety & Regulations:
Provide a safe environment for customers and employees. Report emergencies to proper authorities.
Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous conditions to supervisor, security, or safety personnel.
Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest/employee safety in fire/emergency situations.
Abide by all State, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to alcoholic beverage service to minors and intoxicated guests.
Abide by all State and corporate regulations pertaining to the presence of minors in gaming areas.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of this job description.
