The job holder designs, implements and maintains physical database structures and associated network and system configurations. S/he manages data using effective backup/restore/recovery/reorganization and/or data storage management procedures. S/he also assists with various database management activities including incident and problem resolution. Must have experience with design, implementation and support of a specific database platform and understand associated maintenance and performance implications. Must also be familiar with basic syntax, rules and language for data manipulation and administration techniques relating to availability, capacity and security. Job holder must have knowledge of and prior hands-on experience with importing, exporting, back-up, recovery and migration of database data.
Minimum 2-4 years experience required. Job holder must have knowledge of and prior hands-on experience with database management structures (relational, hierarchical) and associated technical platform architectures (mainframe, distributed).
