This position is dedicated to the support of The Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) application and database operations to ensure optimum performance of application and database processing for the DCPDS Enterprise Human Resource application and related systems supporting over 800,000+ DoD civilian personnel records and users. DCPDS is a highly available 24/7, mission critical, computing infrastructure.
DCPDS is based upon the Oracle R12 eBusiness application suite with added custom software to meet DCPDS specific needs. The DCPDS portal utilizes the Oracle 11g Application server suite of Portal, OID, OAM, and Webgate to provide reduced sign-on authentication to the DCPDS enterprise. DPCDS systems are supported on Red Hat LINUX blade application servers
The candidate selected for this position must have demonstrated experience in current Oracle technology to deliver functional and technical solutions on varied application/database processing to include complex integrated hardware/software solutions. Effectively consults with management on project status.

This job requires the ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to learn new skills quickly while on the job.
Experience with Oracle 11g database, Oracle Real Application Clustering, and Oracle Active Data Guard.
Experience with enterprise database systems that require high-availability solutions.
Experience conducting and leading database trade studies, prototypes, lifecycle upgrade planning, and long-term strategy planning and implementation.
Experience developing and reviewing database design and integration of systems, including application servers, database servers, etc.
Experience with R12 eBusiness Suite application.
Strong technical research skills and quick to learn new Oracle technologies.
Experience with SQL and fourth generation languages, performance tuning of SQL, indexes and databases.
Experience with DoD Information Assurance, including STIGs and DIACAP.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment; experience leading multi-disciplined teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project)
