DBA Lead / Supervisor
•Manages work of employees at individual contributor (IC) level in addition to performing some IC duties.
•Responsible for a Database Development area with full technical knowledge of that area.
•Accountable for results, costs, methods, and staffing of functional area.
•Establishes & assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans & performance requirements.
•Will manage a team 6-8 direct reports.
•Serves as "Lead" level in the team effort to perform necessary functions. Management of six to eight direct reports.
•Resolve employee relations issues.
•Assist with career planning for subordinates.
•Conduct Monthly 1:1 meetings & performance appraisals with direct reports.
•Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and other database technologies.
•Manage project intake, resource assignment, and prioritization.
•Outage management and communication.
Required Skills and Abilities
•Experience in developing scalable, high performance systems
•Knowledge of Industry Standards
•Good communication skills & the ability to work with the development staff, project managers, testers, and architecture on delivering solutions.
•Ability to set / accomplish team objectives and have experience working in a varied geographic environment (spanning multiple time zones including offshore)
•Background with CenturyLink IT software development process, policies, and procedures (or comparable capability model)
•Proven experience with vendor management.
