GENERAL SUMMARY

(What is done and why)

While maintaining the Credit Union's vision and strategic direction, the Database Marketing Specialist creates and delivers integrated, multi-media Campaigns that support UFCU's brand through sales of products and services. The Specialist will recommend strategy for Member Lifecycle Campaign Management and is responsible for the creation of campaigns both for regularly scheduled, as well as emergent product-based promotions and other special projects by developing alternative approaches, stimulating decision-making, scheduling activities and creating effective database marketing campaigns. The Specialist also supports the creation and production of digital and broadcast media, as well as other direct marketing and public relations collateral.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, IN PRIORITY ORDER

(Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)

1. Responsible for establishing UFCU’s Member Relationship Marketing Strategy and developing and managing the executional plans for automated campaigns using drip or event triggered messaging that drive a measurable increase in sales of UFCU products and services. Time 40%

Responsible for synthesizing needs and objectives of Sales and Service Staff and Product Specialists into campaign plans that establish a cadence of contact that optimizes likelihood of conversion.

Responsible for collection, analysis, conclusion drawing and insight from Member, non-Member and competitor data, report and gain consensus on recommendations and modifying ongoing campaigns based on findings.

2. Responsible for designing, producing and distributing direct mail and email campaigns that engage, influence, change perceptions, persuades and precipitates changes in Member and non-Member behavior in support of increasing sales. Time: 30%

3. Consult with Business Intelligence to help define optimized set-up and design of marketing databases. Time: 20%

Responsible for optimizing databases by developing and managing opt outs.

Responsible for developing the process of managing and tracking marketing leads and owning the lead management program.

4. Responsible for improving delivery system for communications while maintaining a positive approach and a high level of service standards. Time: 10%

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most work is done from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from prolonged work at the computer. Deadlines, workloads and

pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels.

WORKING CONDITIONS

(Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position)

Internal - work is normally performed in climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of duties. Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required to accommodate deadlines or special meetings.

External - Some travel to branches may be required; however, information on environmental conditions is not available.

The Database Marketing Specialist provides the support to deliver the right product/services to the right Members or non Members at the right time resulting in sustained Credit Union growth and profitability.

Required Skills

(Minimum technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position)

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field plus three to five years of database marketing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Database marketing experience takes insights to development, recommendation, design, development of alternatives and selection of best solution.
