Job Description:PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position exists to provide technical leadership
with regard to Aviall’s database and storage
environment. The role is one that requires supervision
of technical staff as well as hands-on involvement.
Manages the administration of an organization's
database. Analyzes the organization's database needs and
develops a long-term strategy for data storage. May
establishes policies and procedures related to data
integrity and monitors and limits database access as
needed. Oversees the design, maintenance and
implementation of the systems that manage an internal
database.

Job Requirements:Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field of
study or; 8 years equivalent experience. A Masters
Degree in Computer Science is preferred.
Experience:
8 years experience in Information Technology with
specific experience with database administration,
application, development, performance and tuning, and
backup and recovery.
8 years as an Oracle or SQL DBA
5 years Capacity planning experience
Heavy experience with Oracle on AIX and Sun Solaris
systems (preferred)
Skills:
Excellent Communication Skills
Creative Troubleshooting Ability
Strong Leadership Skills
Certifications:
Oracle or SQL Database Administrator Certified
Professional
Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred)
