The Database Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting customer turnkey data acquisition request from various internal database systems. Individual must have a comprehensive understanding of MS SQL relational database systems, SQL programming, and access tools to legacy systems.
This position is responsible for modifications to existing application screens, reports and interfacing to other applications. Duties include handling requests from staff/vendors for modification to system, integration, templates, and configurations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Configures and installs application software for clients and users.
Leads in configuration, integration of third party applications into EBMS, nQative, Quest.
Responsible for achieving customer satisfaction for the organization and department.
Participates in planning, design, and implementation of business system applications.
Understands and maintain key applications and user accounts.
Works with system users to understand their needs and provide liaison support between operating departments and Technology Dept.
Adapts programs and printouts to users’ needs.
Ability to clearly understand each department’s needs and reliably solves any issues associated with those needs.
Participates in fair systems implementation.
Troubleshoots additional applications as required.
Monitors, evaluates and maintains applications and procedures to safeguard data continuity.
Writes and/or edits documentation; such as manuals, appendices, operating and maintenance instructions.
Designs complex project solutions for organizational goals using a combination of applications, software and hardware systems.
Creates online forms and payment link to event calendar.
Trains new employees on EBMS, Quest, nQative systems.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Individual must have a strong computer science background. Individual must have knowledge of Ungerboeck EBMS, databases, and be a power user. Knowledge of computer hardware and software required. Good human relations skills required, as well as the ability to effectively listen and ascertain needs of EBMS users. Strong analytical skills are required.
Ability to move around the grounds, buildings, parks for supervision.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
Requires a valid California driver’s license
Must be able to climb stairs
Must be available to work some weekends and evenings
