The Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies (HGSAS) invites applications for a full-time position of Dean. Located on the beautiful Center City, MN campus of the world-renownd Hazelden Foundation, the Graduate School is a fully accredited institution of higher learning, offering the Master of Arts degree and certificate in addiction counseling, specialized training for professional development, and continuing education. Currently serving over 90 students, the schools curricula integrate theory, science and practice to prepare addictions counselors who are well-equipped to address the complexities of substance dependence. The Dean provides leadership to faculty and staff and directs the School's academic programming, growth initiatives, and daily operations. The Dean improves key educational processes, teaches and revises course content to ensure optimum learning outcomes, and provides clinical supervision to promote student competency. The School seeks a collaborative and engaged leader who will champion the development of programs, embrace technological innovation, support the integration of addictions research and clinical practice, and serve as a role model for scholarly activity.
Qualifications include a Doctorate in Counselor Education or related field; minimum 5 years experience in substance abuse or related field; minimum 5 years experience in higher education; experience in lecturing, training, education, teaching, and related student services; demonstrated administrative and leadership competency; and demonstrated supervisory skills.
