Plans, directs, and evaluates programs/services for the instructional area of the college including both occupational and academic offerings.

Essential Functions

30% - Assists the Vice President Academic and Student Affairs in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs and services
25% - Coordinates program evaluations in partnership with faculty. Utilizes data for budget development, curriculum planning, and staffing decisions
10% - Participates on assigned college, District, and community committees and task forces Coordinates the activities of the college's advisory boards
15% - Evaluates residential faculty and identifes professional development opportunities as appropriate
10% - Responds to student issues, including grade appeals and formal grievances
10% - Contributes as a member of the President's cabinet responsible for college level decision-making and strategic planning

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • A high level of written communication skills
  • Experience developing and maintaining liaison relationships with K-12, business, and community partners
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to support the teaching and learning process
Desired Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience in a higher education setting (including department/division chair experience)
  • Instructional program development and evaluation experience
  • Experience monitoring district, state, federal, and grant regulations and compliance
  • Strategic planning and budget experience
Special Working Conditions

Evening/weekend hours are occassionally required; may require lifting objects up to 30 lbs; may require Arizona Cladd D Driver's License.
