The Division Dean is responsible for the overall academic leadership of the Science and Mathematics Division. The Dean is responsible for the development and administration of the divisional budget, grants, developing the course schedules, and faculty/staff assignments. The Dean has the primary responsibility for the screening and first-round interviewing (for full-time faculty/staff) and for recommending part-time faculty/staff. He/she is responsible for the performance evaluations and tenure/change of rank recommendations of faculty and support staff within the division and for oversight of all laboratory and equipment/supply needs within the division. The Division Dean must be able to work cooperatively with individuals and groups both on and off-campus including academic leaders, business leaders, political leaders, civic organizations, and students.
A Master’s Degree in a field represented within the division and five years, full or part-time experience teaching at the college level is required. A terminal degree is preferred. Understanding of the mission and goals of the community college, experience as a department chair or other administrative experience in a college setting and knowledge and experience with collective bargaining is also required. The successful candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills including evidence of team work, strong computing skills using Microsoft Office, BANNER, and other college and STEM-related software and the ability to work independently without constant supervision, ability to multitask, problem-solve, and use good time management skill. The ability to finish tasks in a timely and accurate manner, to develop and implement a spending plan and the willingness to work during evenings and weekends periodically is required. The successful candidate must support the College goals of diversity and sustainability, and must be willing to participate in college-wide and college-sponsored activities.
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, Full time benefitted position.
Salary: $85.000.00 to $95,000.00 per year. Commensurate with education and experience.
