Job Qualifications (basic job description):
The Manager of Delivery Assuredness ensures that the Aurora Business Sectors receive product/materials deliveries and/or services on time from their suppliers. Utilizing data from internal Aurora ERP systems fed by suppliers, proven experience, successful track record, and best-practice processes, the Manager of Delivery Assuredness will ensure the quality, delivery and cost integrity to the schedule is met.

The Manager of Delivery Assuredness is responsible to work with the Engineering and Program Teams to establish and implement guidelines to ensure and address the key focus area's above (Critical Recovery, Delivery Improvement, Delinquency Prevention). This position provides effective management and solutions for required products/services for an "on-time Supply Chain", and is responsible for all operational, technical, and personnel activities required in maintaining the schedule.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Develops, plans and recommends to the Supplier Council processes, organizational function changes and supply chain strategies to achieve an On Time Delivery of the Supply Chain. Develops and administers short and long-range plans that optimize the use of personnel, material, financial resources, and time to meet and exceed the level of service required by the Aurora Business Sectors.
  • Provides direction and leadership for the Aurora Business Sector's On Time Delivery for the Supply Chain. Provides direct leadership, education, and communication to staff to ensure effective operations of the On Time Delivery of the Supply Chain functions throughout the company.
  • Communicates mission, vision, and values and works to align On Time Delivery of the Supply Chain functions and processes to work as a system. Delegates appropriately to allow decision making at the best level.
  • Leads teams, conducts effective meetings, removes barriers, and engages in synergistic problem solving through effective delegation, teaching, coaching and counseling, and active listening.
  • Directs staffing and management of the department's staff. Develops department structure for maximum effectiveness. Maintains a competent and motivated staff through the appropriate selection, training, performance management, praise and recognition, feedback, and termination of subordinate personnel as appropriate. Develops work goads and objectives for the department in accordance and alignment with company goals; provides leadership, measures and feedback, and motivation for staff achievement of departmental goals.
  • Develops processes and standards from "Best Practices" for the execution of current, new and/or future programs.
  • Manages collaboratively through commercial, financial and quality compliance.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Requires five (5) or more years of progressive management experience in Operational Excellence with process design, line balancing activities and supplier development within a regulated industry.
  • 5+ years experience in metal (i.e.: machine, forging, forming and sheet metal) and composites manufacturing as well as their equipment requirements and kitting operations.
  • Hands On expert in Continuous Improvement with Lean 6 Sigma certification and experience in teaching it.
  • Hands On experience with advance materials management information systems, database management and reporting.
  • Outstanding analytical, quantitive and process documentation skills with ability to research and interpret data as well as make recommendations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Effective use ERP and MS Office.
Shift Requirements:
  • Willing to travel at least 30%.
