POSITION

The Demand Planning Analyst will assist the Senior Demand Planner in managing the operational forecasting process for Symmetry Surgical in North America. Generate sourcing requirements by month for approximately 4-6,000 SKUs using a demand planning software tool. The production plan will be based on various inputs including: sales forecasts provided by sales and marketing, batch yields, safety stock targets, production capacity of suppliers, lead times and inventory levels. Serve as contact with purchasing organizations regarding production scheduling, shipment and delivery plans, and other recurring and non-recurring production and transportation issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work closely with other functions within Symmetry Surgical, including finance, marketing, customer service and sales, in order to provide the most accurate production plans to purchasing.

Assist in the S&OP volume forecast process and communicate demand plan forecast changes and implications across the organization. Ensure the accuracy and consistency of forecasts and supply plans.

On a daily basis, manage and maintain database of shipments and receipts from each supplier in order to accurately track future inventory coverage and prepare future production plans. Provide regular communication regarding receipts to distribution center, customer service, sales and marketing as appropriate.

Prepare various reports and communication indicating short-term and long-term inventory outlook and other production related reports.

Routinely review lot sizing, production run frequency, lead times and safety stock levels. Provide management with revised optimization proposals as appropriate.

Responsible for determining how to produce the best possible statistical baseline forecast off of prior sales history. Perform forecast analysis through the use of historical data and marketing information.

Provide resolution of various supply chain issues, including component supply and quality issues with finished goods.

Participate in the development of long-term strategic capacity planning.

Maintain scheduling and quality performance metrics. Publish results on a monthly basis.

Model parameters for all new items that need to be setup.

Conduct backorder analysis, reporting and communication.

Assist in managing, analyzing and optimizing inbound and outbound transportation services.

Assist in developing supply chain processes and procedures.

Evaluates system performance and pursues opportunities to improve efficiency.

Data entry and tracking.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Finance, Operations or equivalent work experience .

Experience in supply chain planning/analysis production scheduling, inventory control, accounting, freight management or procurement operations management.

Knowledge of financial, business, and market analysis.

Analysis skills related to forecasting.

Knowledge of supply chain concepts, techniques, and systems pertaining to forecasts, inventory controls, logistics and distribution resource planning and production management.

Extensive mastery of Excel and other office applications.

Strong systems aptitude and ability to use current technologies. Exposure to MRP systems and how they work.

Experience working with large amounts of data that require analysis and resulting decisions that directly impact profitability of the company.
